Mad River Wooden Canoe Thwart – Stained – Spare Part to Fit 39 inch (89cm)

Wooden thwart can be used as a replacement thwart for Mad River canoes or any canoe that takes wood outfitting. An extra thwart can provide added tie-down security for gear and float bags, or as custom placed grab handle when portaging the canoe. An extra thwart can also improve hull stiffness for severe conditions.
Thwarts may also be preferred to Yokes (yokes have a curve in the middle for carrying on the shoulders like an oxen cart etc) for use as a kneeling seat/bottom rest for solo paddling a 2 person canoe etc.
Hardware sold separately – Mad River Truss kit 2 inch -, but you can re-use original hardware if replacing an existing thwart . Length: 89cm (35 inches). Longer thwarts are available, for wider canoes or more central placements.
