Ocean Earth Quick Release Leash One XT Reef 6 Foot

The Ocean & Earth Reef Quick Release Reef One-XT leash is 6 foot long and ideal for down wind skis or surf boards on reef breaks , with the performance of ocean and earth’s Premium Series One-XT leash. Using their patent one-piece technology ( No Joins | No Weak Points ) this leash features a quick release pin allowing you to quickly detach from your board in dangerous situations or if on a paddle ski prior to entering the surf zone.

Quick release pin has a webbing loop to make it easy to grab and remove/detach yourself without looking, as well the pin has a leash to the ankle strap so it doesn’t go missing and can be quickly reattached on the shore.

Wipeouts where your leash can become here you can get wrapped around your ski  or snagged around rocks or a coral reef, can be dangerous. In these situations you want to disconnect from your craft/board as soon as you can.

In Downwind races common practise is to detach from your paddle ski prior to entering the surf/landing zone so you can easily hop off and run up the beach for the win, as well as to avoid being attached to your ski in case of unexpected dismount. You don’t want to be stuck near to a tumbling ski with your leash wrapped around it you want to get away to grab an end and avoid  being hit by it. Being able to quickly detach makes it easy to do even when tired and in a hurry.
