Mad River Canoe Deck Plate Rotomoulded

This Deck has an integrated lifting handle.

The dimensions are 11.75 inches at the widest part, 18.5 inches on each of the long sides, and about 2 to 2.5 inches thick in the centre.

Normally attached with 4 screws and 4 rivets (with internal reinforcing stainless steel washer fitted under the rivet bulb against the hull). In older model canoes also been attached with 8 (or 9) rivets and no screws but this was changed as using the screws is a lot easier.

This Deck has marks moulded on showing the location to attach the hardware but you may need to vary this if replacing an existing plate to reuse or avoid previous holes in your hull.

This Deck is sometimes also known as an end, bow, stern or Gunwale (Gunnel) cap or plate. Some canoes may have different decks for the bow and stern. This will suit most Mad River canoes,(with the Vinyl gunwale) There is an option for the older IQ model gunwales that is smaller as they have a separate handle but this end cap was used on IQ2 gunwales and will suit IQ gunwales as well.

The part is plastic and can be modified by bending cutting or heating.
