Dagger Axis Thighbrace Pair

This pair of thigh braces is a basic plastic version of the Dagger and Perception Thigh brace kit.
This thigh brace fits both old and new kayaks by Perception and Dagger. This is the low volume model most common on touring kayaks .
These adjustable thigh braces are compatible and similar to those found in current model kayaks by Dagger and designed to give you greater control over your kayak especially in rougher water, when rolling and leaning your kayak.
Previously also used and sold by Perception for their kayaks.

The Axis thigh braces are common on older model touring (rive and sea style) kayaks from both Dagger and Perception, and will fit some other brands.

The Axis Thigh braces are compatible with Dagger white water kayaks. These touring style thigh brace can be used as replacements either for a damaged set in a white water kayak or just to replace existing bracesif you require a less aggressive or lower volume thigh hook. Current model white water kayaks have a different profile to these thigh braces but older models like the RPM use a similar profile. The most significant difference is the size of the thigh hook that holds your thigh in place. This model is smaller. The slightly lower profile and less aggressive shape can make them more comfortable especially for those with tighter cockpits and/or bigger thighs. Will also suit people you

Included are left and right thigh braces (only).
No padding, mounting hardware (Screws Nuts etc), ratchets straps, buckles or instructions are included. the Ratchets etc are available separately.

Typically these braces are secured by up to 3 screws (into reversed rubber well nuts). 2 screws though the deck of your kayak outside the coming and one screw (Optional) through a lip on the inside of your coaming. (not all kayaks will have this lip)

A thin layer of foam can be fixed to the plastic thigh braces with adhesive (Tape or glue) but this will effect the volume slightly.

Round Holes are at the front (bow) end and provide the position front back- You will need to remove this screw to adjust. The 2 Slots allow movement backwards and forwards (when loosened) whilst still holding the thigh hooks left to right. This allows the thigh brace to be tested by the paddler to determine the best position for the braces.

Models this will fit include the Perception Shadow, Monterey, Eclipse and the Older Carolina, Dagger Expedition Exodus, Cortez and Halifax, circa 2004.
