Wilderness Systems Solo Rudder Rear Assembly (Short/Mid Pin)

This Wilderness Systems Solo Rudder Rear Assembly can be used as a replacement part for nearly all Wilderness Systems kayaks outfitted with the plastic BTS rudder bracket, as well as other Wilderness Systems kayak models with a metal bracket as well as Perception.

This rudder is also sometimes called the Mid and also the Short Pin. It will fit like a Bayonet Pin into the stern of some Perception and Wilderness Systems brand kayaks.

The Wilderness Systems Solo Rudder Assembly is composed of a metal blade housing with a plastic and glass fiber blade. It is a suitable replacement for nearly all metal Wilderness Systems rudders.

Pin is 1 and 15/16 inches long, 3/8 inch diameter.

The redesigned rudder blade has a foil-shape for more efficiency and less drag in the water than standard flat metal blades. The Wilderness Systems Rudder Assembly is made to be used with Wilderness Systems BTS rudder bracket that also came in an early metal bracket version, as well as other Wilderness Systems kayak models with a hole on deck for the pin to insert into.

This is the rudder Rear assembly only and contains only the rudder and it’s raise lower cord
It does not contain any steering cords or mounting brackets. A full kit for installing a rudder including steering components such as cable tubing and foot controls is available.

The Holes on the mount are designed for the wilderness systems Rudder Cable Swivels and my be larger than expected for use with older style screw and bolts necessitating use of washers.
