OrigiNZ footrests with tip-toe rudder controls suit ruddered kayaks. Their “gas-pedal” toe operated style footrest (pair). OrigiNZ footrests with tip-toe rudder controls feature spring-loaded toe tabs that offer easy rudder control. The heel/ball of the foot tab is locked in place so you can brace against it. These footrests can be retro-fitted to many other sit in and sit-on kayaks.
Tip toes are really easy to use. To adjust the position, simply squeeze the lever on the back of the pedal and they are free to slide forward or backwards. The rudder cable will not need to be adjusted. This system is much easier to use than some others, especially when a bit of sand and / or salt is on the track. When you have adjusted the pedal to the correct position. There is no need to adjust the tension in the rudder cord; the Tip Toes self-adjust.
Cable Guides keep the rudder control cord (or cable) taut and high and out of the way of your legs and feet, keeping your kayak cockpit clear.
Three wedges or fixing blocks on the back of the rails angle the footrest against the hull to ensure that the pedals are horizontal and snug. These screw in on the 3 wedges.
This is a complete set including left and right pedals with toe controls, pair of rails, cable guides and short length of cord to affix to existing rudder cord/cables.
Does not include mounting hardware (screws).
